Sign JW Data Protection Form Or Else!
by AverageJoe1 inin spain (and the rest of europe), the "improved" data protection laws come into force on 25th may 2018. this is a good thing and sadly america is still lagging behind; not surprising with their current president!.
watchtower legal department are hot on the case and have instructed elders to hand out the new "release" forms out to all the publishers in their groups, whilst making it clear to them that they won't have any privileges if they refuse to do so!.
note these points in the instructions:.

Transferring Congregations
by optimisticskeptic inwhat is included in the publisher cards and other information when you transfer from one congregation to another?
i was privately reproved and may be moving to a congregation where there are brothers i rather not know why i was privately reproved.
is the fact i was privately reproved visible but not the reason why?

Have I made a mistake?
by Calashan inso i've been out since my mid teens.

) relationship with my parents who are both still in.. jump forward 14 years or so to last night.

Hello Calashan and welcome to the forum.
As I´ve had children become adults and only two of five were ever baptized - I feel it is quite likely that your parents are extremely happy with your status as beloved but not trapped by the same stultifying judgemental fog they are.
Likely your dad enjoys a freeness of speech he can exercise with you as you cannot be condemned nor manipulated like JWs would like.
Your parents will be fully aware that you are thoughtful, loving and intelligent in your concerns for them ... go slow, and keep up the research.

PORTUGAL: In-depth news investigation about Jehovah's Witnesses and shunning
by EdenOne in"observador" the leading online daily newspaper in portugal, published today an in-depth investigation about the practice of shunning by the jehovah's witnesses.. starting with the ongoing petition that i have submitted to collect signatures, the investigative reporter tânia pereirinha details how the branch is organized, who is who in the local branch office, the history of the organization, the pedophilia scandals, interviews lawmakers and the person responsible for the overseeing of the law of religious freedom, and the focuses on four life stories of people who were shunned.
one of those stories is of our very own tj curioso, who posts in this forum.. https://observador.pt/especiais/eles-mataram-me-em-vida-o-inferno-nas-testemunhas-de-jeova/.
"they killed me while i was still living - the hell of jehovah's witnesses" is the name of the article.

Good-bye Jehovah (poem)
by SunnyOne026 init has been several months now, since i learned ttat and the shock and grief is slowly lifting, although some days are harder than others.
after 40 years a devout believer i guess i should not be surprised that the transition has been challenging and the losses immense, and i am sure very many of you can relate to my struggles.
i frequently read the posts on here and my heart goes out to all of you, who grieve and struggle each in your own way, and i wish all of you continued courage and peace.

I appreciated your contentment with your new "..live a life of quiet uncertainty.."
Uncertainty is the only true and just response we can have to much of life whether past, present and obviously the future.
Joys and beauty remain undiminished and a sense of wonder enhances every human mind.
Thank you for introducing that perfectly apt and logical phrase.

My Dissociation letter
by TJ Curioso inhi to everyone!i was summoned to the judicial committee and went.
it was a respectful conversation from one side to the other.
in the end i handed the dissociation letter in hand and a binding to each of the elders, with an article i wrote on the subject, "are jehovah's witnesses a destructive sect?

What a superb document.
The loss of persons of such conviction and love will leave lasting voids - have you considered publishing this in your local press and addressed to your former congregation?
Those who must have loved you as a friend surely have the right to know your reasons.
A gracious and well researched condemnation of the actual damages wrought by such a deceitful, destructive cult - in an unsuspecting community.
Thanks to Eden One for translation... beautifully rendered.

Unhappy being asked to give a Disfellowshipped Sister a ride to and from Meetings
by Isambard Crater ini'm pimo, very much against disfellowshipping, and going to a meeting leaves me feeling confused and angry at the best of times.
except an elder asked me on thursday night if i can start giving a ride to a disfellowshipped woman because she lives near me and nobody else from the hall lives in my village.
it seems the elder and his family who have been giving this woman a ride for the past six months can no longer stomach the time it takes them to go out of their way.. i thought all normal publishers weren't to have any contact with disfellowshipped people?

"...and I was told six months ago (when I didn't know who she was) not to speak to her as she's disfellowshiped."
It is against the law to forbid communication between citizens. See how much better democratic laws are than theocratic crap?

conversation with a JW about the sun
by neat blue dog injw: didn't we just hear somebody say that the sun's gonna blow up?.
me: well, they were saying that it will expand and eventually burn out.. jw: but it can't do that, it just keeps blowing up inside and getting more power.. me: well, they were talking about stars in general, how they have a life span.. jw: but god didn't make it that way, it's firmly established to time indefinite.
it's not like the sun is a regular star.

In case you want to see mass quantities of ignorance / stupidity on display....a dinosaur thread on JWTalk

amazing how many words can be expended discussing things that people have utterly no clue about..

In post #43 jwhess ends with:
"I would not cite (m)any publication earlier than 2000 for teaching purposes, I assure you"
A candid admission that JWs themselves realize that for more than a century the WT published and disseminated material unfit for teaching.
People lives were wasted, used up and too often ruined based on that same bullshit - disgraceful.

Pale E
You handled that very well- reasonable, logic and a legally valid concern expressed.
I record my conversations with JWs then write a letter to them to documenting the conversation. In the letter, quote them exactly and explain exactly what is wrong with their conduct .
Send the letter to the congregation secretary and demand a reply with their remedy to the situation.
Dubs are just witless little drones and shunning is their one and only chance to feel powerful. The congregation created the insanity so demand that they fix it. Bury them with paperwork resulting from their vicious hateful policies.
Shunning looks petty and ridiculous in print (and may even violate a legal agreement)
The real value of the letter is that it is a document upon which legal action can be pursued and will be viewed as such by the boe.
It´s actually fun to dump the mess right back in the secretaries lap - good luck
